Since moms need all the help we can get during the winter when the kids are stuck inside, I’m republishing this list of winter activities for kids.
Are you ready for snow days? Some winters it feels like we have a constant barrage of snow days. Moms go into survival mode – stocking the pantry with snacks and hot chocolate supplies, filling the fridge with milk, eggs, and bread, and of course, making sure everyone has snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens.
Turn your next snow day into a memory-making day with this round up of fun winter activities for kids. If you’re stuck inside thanks to many feet of snow, you’ll find lots of indoor activities using items from around the house. Once you can send the kids outside, you’ll find lots of fun things to do in the snow including the classic activities like sledding.
While you’re making memories with your kids, take some pictures to remember those fun snow days. My friend Steph of A Grande Life, mom to 2 boys and photographer extraordinaire has lots of easy tips to help you take better pictures indoors. Don’t forget to hand the camera over to your kids and see what they want to record for posterity.

Crafts for Kids
Pine cone Bird Feeder – Gather pine cones, making sure they don’t have sap on them. Tie the piece of string or yarn to the pine cone. Lay a piece of wax paper on a rimmed cookie sheet and pour bird seed on the wax paper. Put a layer of peanut butter on the pine cone and then roll the pine cone in the bird seed. Hang outside immediately. You can use the same pine cone several times throughout the winter. Just keep adding more peanut butter and seeds.
