On Sunday, I grabbed my camera and a macro lens and walked around the yard grabbing shots of blooming flowers. I love seeing all the colors in May!
I am working on this bed which has been home to day lilies for far too long. I dug up lots of day lilies and in their place installed delphiniums from Home Depot. I also moved around several perennials to fill in spots. The baby blueberry bush in this spot now has some room to breathe and space to grow.
This area is also home to large bunches of daffodil bulbs. As I dig, I am breaking up the clumps of bulbs and spreading them in this bed and others in the yard. Technically, I should wait until the fall when the foliage has died back. However, doing it now while I’m already digging ensures that I actually get the job done. Sometimes expediency wins out over what should be done.
My vegetable garden update is over at Frugal Local Kitchen.
