My son Munchkin loves the wet pouring exercises and has done them several times each week. The picture I’m posting below shows him using colored water to do the wet pouring exercise earlier this month.
He has since focused on the colored water used in the exercise. We’ve been taking food coloring (2 drops of the fluid food coloring) and adding it to a 1/4 cup of water and then mixing the two primary colors in a new container to make a new color. This new color is often used to do the wet pouring exercise.
Today we took the idea of mixing colors in a new direction. We took watercolor markers and drew on coffee filters. Then Munchkin dropped water on the coffee filters which made the colors run.
The filters are currently outside waiting for the sun to dry them before we can turn them into our craft today – Butterfly Wands.
