So many things catch my eye each week which I want to share with you. I’m starting a weekend roundup to share a few of my favorite things. Enjoy!
I’ve been on a salad kick recently. I try to have one every day for lunch. If I forget, I make salad part of my dinner and skip one of the side dishes. I also like to put some kale in my baked Eggs en Cocotte for extra greens.
Did you know that massaging kale before including it in a salad helps it taste better? I didn’t know that until I read Gimme Some Oven’s Kale Salad with Warm Cranberry Vinaigrette. I can’t wait to make the warm cranberry vinaigrette!
From my friend, Heather of Real: The Kitchen and Beyond – 24 Frugal Valentine’s Day Ideas
Valentine’s Day can be a budget-buster when it comes to items like roses, chocolate, and dinners at restaurants. Heather came up with a list of ideas for every budget. Save these for your date nights for the rest of the year.
At some point, we’ll be ditching the tv cabinet and old tube tv for a flat screen and more seating in our living room. The kids are getting bigger; they’re having a hard time fitting 4 of them on the sofa. I love these ideas for combining a flat screen tv with storage from O’Boy Organic.
Shopping Apps that Pay You to Shop from Pam’s Party and Practical Tips – I would love to get paid for shopping! Shopping is work.
Don’t wait for the snow on the ground to melt to get started with gardening. Thanks to The Happy Housewife, you can start growing food from kitchen scraps indoor this weekend. Dig into your recycling bin and pull out those yogurt cups and egg cartons to get started.
