So many things catch my eye each week which I want to share with you. I’m starting a weekend roundup to share a few of my favorite things. Enjoy!
Teacher Gift: Save This One (You’ll Thank Me Later)
This teacher’s gift from Adventures in Mommyhood is incredibly easy! “Meet the reMARK(ER)able Teacher” is simply a pack of permanent markers (doesn’t every teacher need these) and a funny punny gift tag. This would be an awesome gift for a crafter or a Girl Scout leader, too. And, a mom. Yes, doesn’t every mom carry around a Sharpie marker in their purse like me?
On Sunday, February 2nd, my husband will be watching the Super Bowl. Me, I’ll be following the comments about the Super Bowl commercials on Facebook and munching away on some seriously delicious appetizers like these Prosciutto Goat Cheese and Pear apps from my friend Heather of Real: The Kitchen and Beyond. They’re perfect for the gluten-free crowd! Find more awesome Game Day recipes on my Frugal Healthy Recipes for the Super Bowl post.
As a mom of 5 feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, this post about Going from Surviving to Thriving shared by From This Kitchen Table at this week’s Fabulously Frugal Thursday linky party caught my eye. It reminded me of the post about Balance by Janeane Davis on my blog at the beginning of the week.
I can’t be someone else. The sooner I come to terms with that fact the sooner I can stop putting on fronts and stop wasting time trying to be someone God isn’t asking me to be. ~ Deanna, From This Kitchen Table
Don’t head out to the craft store this weekend for supplies. Instead use what you have around the house to create fun Valentine’s Day decor with your kids, thanks to frugal crafting ideas from Creative K Kids.
For those thinking about starting a vegetable garden this spring, Runamuk Acres wrote an extensive post this week outlining what to think about and how to get started with vegetable gardening.
Sunday Afternoon Craft Time with Kids
If you live in the Northeast, you know about Winter Storm Janus. For me, my kids were already home for 5 days thanks to an unusually long winter break. And then, there was Day 6. Because I’m a Girl Scout and I like to be prepared, I’m putting together a Snow Day Necessity Kit thanks to help from Carrie of Chockababy. I am positive this Snow Day Necessity Kit is going to be used a LOT this winter.
