I forgot to post last month about two treasure boxes that one of my sisters-in-law made for two of my children for a birthday and Christmas. I thought I would kick off the 2010 edition of Handmade Monday by sharing her handy work.
On the left is a thrifted hat box. Across the lid, my sister-in-law used stick-on letters to spell out my daughter’s name. We’re keeping all her jewelry and scarves in here.
We’ve had some issues with Lego creations in our home, and it seemed that a special box to hold my four year old’s Lego creations might be just the answer.
After staining this simple box, found at any craft store, my sister-in-law again personalized it for my son.
In a home short on space for storing seven people’s stuff, I love that two of my children have their own treasure boxes.
