The Cadillac of Clotheslines

We went from this make-shift clothesline, using existing poles and the back porch railing to

this. The pole goes two feet below grade with cement footings. Gee, I sound like I know the terminology! My husband shaped the top of the pole to allow the rain water to run off. The lag bolts were already in our basement. The rest of the supplies came from Home Depot. Without the cost of the 8 lag bolts which were probably a few dollars each, the wood and the cement cost $43.15. The rope on the existing set up should be enough for the new line.

Looks about like my set-up except our posts are steel. We put them up at least 15 years ago and they're still going strong.
