As part of Catholic Schools Week in the Philadelphia Archdiocese, my children’s school holds an Appreciation Week. Each day a group at school is honored, starting with Volunteers on Monday, Students on Tuesday, the Principal on Wednesday, and Teachers on Thursday. On Friday, the school does a community outreach project.
As one of the Kindergarten Homeroom moms, I put together this cute gift for my 6 year old son’s teacher, inspired by one of the ideas at Little Pumpkin Grace. The tin and paper flowers came from Michael’s. I think the tin was about $5.99. I filled it with the Smarties candy, found at Target, along with a package of Sharpie markers. This gift took about 10 minutes to make.
- Smartie candies
- Sharpie markers
- label for container
How to Make the Thank You Gift
1. Using a full size label page, I made a label on the computer with the following text:
Thank you for making us “Sharpies” and “Smarties” this year!
2. After placing the label on the container and decorating it with flowers, I filled it with Sharpie markers and Smartie candies.
I’m also sending in a bag of Smartie candy for snack today. In addition, we’ll be giving the Kindergarten teacher a gift card to her favorite clothing store, Ann Taylor Loft.
