When looking for Montessori supplies at Home Depot a few weeks ago, I found this box of wire caps already sorted by size and color. The kids were excited by them because they look just like Daddy’s stuff. The tray underneath I found at Ikea this month; I also found larger square trays with leaf patterns on them. I like keeping stacks of trays in different spots in the house to contain activities like this that have small pieces.
In the photo, my almost three year old is sorting the wire caps by color. Each time he did this activity, he deliberately dumped them mixed up in the compartments several times, asking me each time if he did it right. Then he sorted correctly. What I need to make is a control card for him to refer to.
