My two older sons were inspired to paint yesterday after a very quick look at some art cards we have. We spent a total of five minutes looking at some of Monet’s paintings, talking about the subject matter and boom, they wanted to paint for more than half an hour.

In our kitchen, I have a permanent art gallery spot for the kids’ work. (Note to self: make room for two more kids!). I found the simple 11 x 17 frames as a pair at Michael’s. I think that I paid $5 for the pair. I bought matts separately, but I didn’t use them for these two paintings.
The walls on our basement stairs are for a more informal art gallery since the walls themselves are not in the best condition. We feel free to use lots of thumbtacks! A second art gallery has established itself on my office closet door. My favorite picture here is one that my oldest son did many many years ago of a pumpkin. I wish that I had framed this picture because I love it so much.
