My husband is the master of sauces in our house. I’m always amazed at what he comes up with, not to mention the subtle flavors. Me, I’m master of a few sauces, teriyaki sauce being one of them.
This is an incredibly versatile sauce, plus it freezes well. I’ve found it makes enough for two meals for 7 people, with some leftover. Last week, I used the teriyaki sauce on chicken legs, just pouring it over top before baking, and then used the leftover cooked sauce to marinate and stir fry beef cubes. Both meals received rave reviews from the kids.
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup organic sugar
1 1/2 T red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
2 T unflavored coconut oil
1 minced garlic clove
3/4 tsp ground ginger
Mix ingredients together to make the marinade.
