As part of my notebook preparation for my preschooler and two toddlers, I decided to put together a mini office for the preschooler. I got this idea from Kim at Starry Sky Ranch (of course when I look for her post on mini offices, I can’t find it!). The one I did today focuses on reading, math and general stuff. I’m thinking about doing one on faith to introduce the symbols of the Catholic faith. Note I said “introduce” because I don’t think these mini offices are the be-all end-all. They are simply a quick reference tool and a way to review basic concepts on a daily or weekly basis.
For those familiar with lapbooks, putting together a preschool mini office is a simple project. My pictures came from these two links:
making it easy to cut and paste pre-made items. The only thing I changed was one place that used the words “Kindergarten Office.” I also made a name tag for the back of the office for my preschooler. My toddler has asked for his own which I’ll be working on today. The project probably took about 30 minutes of my time. After I glued the folders together and glued the items on, I laminated both sides with clear contact paper.
