I’m joining my friend Heather of Real: The Kitchen and Beyond in co-hosting a new linky to share our Pinterest Food pins. As a result, I’ll be sharing recipes and kitchen tips on Tuesdays here at A Life in Balance in addition to my regular Tuesday organizing posts.
After a family birthday party last weekend, we ended up with tons of pineapple, cantaloupe, and grapes in our fridge. For some reason, the kids weren’t eating the fruit though they love pineapple and grapes normally. Since I hated to see the fruit go to waste and I was at a loss for ideas, I turned to my fellow bloggers and friends for ideas. Feel free to share this post in case you know a mom knee-deep in pineapple, grapes, or cantaloupe.
Brandi Wilkinson Jordan of One Great Mom: Pop the grapes in the freezer – they’re a yummy frozen snack.
Melinda Babiak of Look What Mom Found: grilled pineapple is so good with ice cream and crushed spiced wafers
Tomika Bryant of My Mommy’s Neighborhood: I love grilled pineapple with a burger and mango salsa.
Megan Mount: Make cantaloupe soup and freeze it. Make raisins out of grapes. And pineapple coconut smoothies
Bryan Mickle: Make Oatmeal in a jar with greek yogurt with the fruit added to it.
Pamela Follo Badolato of Philadelphia Family Magazine: I love a kale and pineapple smoothie, you could toss the grapes in there too! Thin slices of cantaloupe are good in a sandwich, especially ham, or wrap the fruit in ham like you would for a fancy cantaloupe and prosciutto appetizer.
