Last week, I had the great pleasure of joining 4 other local bloggers for an evening of conversation and lots of grassfed beef courtesy of Jessica of Philly Cow Share. Our fabulous chef was Linda from Highview Farm and Les Dames d’ Escoffier. We came home filled with inspiration and delicious food while given a challenge to cook Philly Cow Share grassfed beef and share our cooking experience with our readers.
Philly Cow Share was founded with the simple mandate to connect farmers and consumers.
At Philly CowShare, we celebrate the farmers and the connection to our food. We want to eat well. We want the animals to be humanely raised. We want to know where our food dollar went.
Listening to Jessica talk about her farm tours and how to butcher meat while Linda shared her life as a farmer was simply quite amazing. An event that was supposed to end at 9 ended at almost midnight because of the energy and enthusiasm we all felt for feeding our families the healthiest and most nutritious meat possible.
Next week, I’ll be sharing my first cooking experience with grassfed beef given to me by Philly Cow Share. The following week, I’ll be sharing my grassfed beef challenge recipe. Then, I’ll share a recipe using the last piece of grassfed beef from Philly Cow Share.
