Most of the concord grapes are ready for picking and juicing. I’m doing as much as I can and then letting the birds have the rest. It looks like I can do one or two more batches of juice this week. In the picture, you can see my steam juicer on the front right burner. When I’m ready to drain the juice, the pan on the counter sits on the table positioned directly in front of the stove and gravity does the rest.
The pot on the back left burner has apples from our two apple trees which we picked this morning. I’m making applesauce which I’ll can this afternoon along with the grape juice.
Tomorrow I’ll do the second batch of concord grapes and probably do a batch of mixed veggies from our vegetable garden. Since I’m running out of time for preserving food, I removed a number of older bean plants from the garden. We have enough plants left to provide us with beans for eating a few times a week.
