With a quarter-acre yard full of flower beds, there’s no end to the supply of natural decorations I can use in our Christmas decorations. All I need is a pair of Felco Pruners and a bowl for gathering supplies and I’m all set. Don’t forget to watch your neighbor’s trash for yard waste. One December I scored a huge pile of cedar branches that I trimmed down to create a cedar garland for our back porch using florist’s green wire.

Using an artificial wreath, I combined fresh rhododendron clippings and pine cones with balls of twine and artificial brown leaves, all secured on the wreath with green wire.
One mild winter, our hydrangea remained a beautiful pink hue well into December. I set up an artificial tree on our back porch and decorated it with fresh ivy and hydrangea flowers.
