Not for critters this time, though these little beauties have shown up in our yard. (Note to self: bunnies also notice if you haven’t cut the grass in two weeks.) Fortunately my twelve year old did not harm any when he was cutting the grass. For some reason he thought they had big teeth.
No, my hunt is an internet one. In my quest for inspiration for our home gardening project, I’ve been looking for blogs or websites of home gardens in the Mid-Atlantic area. Suburban home gardens created by families who have 2 or more children. Families who raise and preserve their own food in a suburban setting while taking care of children.
The Path to Freedom site in California is very inspirational, but…it’s in a different climate where they can garden pretty much year ’round and they don’t have children. Life is different when children are involved.
If you’ve found a blog like the one I’ve described above, please let me know in the comment section. I’m planning for next year’s gardening with an eye to expanding our vegetable garden and our fruit production in future years to help with our budget. I’ll share our plans and projects on my blog.

I love this blog with Mrs. Darling. She writes great articles almost daily. She has a suburban home garden with pictures to share and updates on her canning plus recipes. Check it out. You’ll like it.
Am enjoying your blog–just found it through another blog.
