I had some fun last week doing Valentine projects with the kids. Valentine’s Day means a bit more to me than most people because my birthday is two days after. Just like Christmas, I love decorating for Valentine’s Day, but I don’t have a lot of decorations and I haven’t been able to find anything that I like in the stores. I’m very picky about what I want to display, and the standard stuff just doesn’t work for me.
However, I found this cute heart pocket on Plumpudding that fit the bill.
Then, my five year old designed and cut out the pieces for his own and I sewed everything together for him.
I also made a wreath for the front door from fabric that has been in my stash almost forever, stuffing, ribbon, and a wire coat hanger.
After putting together some birthday e-cards last week, my five year old and three year old decide to make up a bunch of cards for their baby brother. I offered to make a Valentine mailbox for them to decorate. I took an adult size shoe box and wrapped it in red wrapping paper. The kids had a blast covering it with foam hearts.
I’m still working on my knitting projects – the waffle pattern dishcloth and my daughter’s socks. I should finish both this week.
