Green Family Living: Lunch Box OptionsToday, my kids and I met a local mom, Inge, who started a business selling cloth diapers over ten years ago when she couldn’t find much information on cloth diapering. Located in a small house on Knowlton Road in Aston, very close to the 5 Point Intersection, Green Family Living carries cloth diapers, diapering accessories, menstrual supplies, eco lunch supplies, and produce bags.

My visit today was for stainless steel lunchware and the Kleen Kanteen bottles. Green Family Living carries a selection of stainless steel lunch boxes that should work for just about anyone’s tastes, and an assortment of bags to hold the boxes. I bought the 3-in-1 Eco Lunch box which will hold a sandwich in one section, a loose snack in another and a small container for holding dip. As part of my replacing all our BPA-free water bottles with stainless steel, I chose the 18 oz. Kleen Kanteen with the sport drinking top. I had considered going with the sippy version of the Kleen Kanteen for my almost three year old, but I think the sport drinking top is better suited to a fairly dexterous toddler.

Green Family Living also carries eco-friendly produce bags, not something I planned on purchasing until I saw the selection. It was hard to choose between the Eco Bags Classic String Bags and the Organic Net sacks for replacing plastic produce bags when we shop at Gentile’s, however, I went with the Organic Net Sacks. I think I may invest in the string bags later on in the spring when I start shopping at the Media Farmers Market.

Green Family Living: cloth diaperingWhile I was at the Green Family Living store, I couldn’t help checking out the amazing looking cloth diapers and all the colorful accessories! Inge carries everything available from the standard cloth diapering system I use with my 3 year old to all-in-one diapers to  pocket diapers, and every variation. Looking at the colorful designs I almost wished I had a baby to dress them in! I did buy a wet/dry tote bag which I will be giving as a baby gift to a friend.

Inge has an extensive FAQ page for cloth diapering on her website, and she does free cloth diapering seminars at her store. Just call to find out when the next one is. She’s also available, depending on her schedule to do cloth diapering demonstrations for mom’s groups and other interested groups.

If you need to bring children and babies with you when you visit the store, Inge has all the comforts of home with a couch, lots of toys, and a place to nurse your baby. My kids had a good time playing with the toys while I chatted with Inge and checked out the products.

If you don’t live near Aston, PA, check out Green Family Living online.

I am definitely intrigued by cloth diapering, but seeing as I have no children, I have more time to learn!

It’s so easy! I’ve been doing it for about 7 years and 4 kids. I probably should write a post about my lazy way of washing diapers and diapering my children. It might seem less intimidating and time-consuming to some people.

Hi Barb,
Sorry, I thought you already knew about this place. Molly and I went there when she first started to diaper Nate. She has since given up on the cloth diapers….long story why. Inge has really expanded her product line, I’m going to check out her online site.

Nope, I never thought to look locally for cloth diapers. Sounds like I need to start a resource page for these types of businesses in Delaware County.
