I hardly ever share the daily moments of our life as a family of 7 on A Life in Balance. I feel like I’m focused on the bigger picture instead of the small details here on the blog. If you’re a fan on Facebook or follow me on Instagram, you get glimpses of our family life.
Every Saturday, I’m going to share 5 glimpses of daily life to share with you the family behind A Life in Balance. Don’t forget to join me on Instagram for more daily life.
Last Sunday, I took my 10 year old son to see the Lego display at the Battleship New Jersey for some one-on-one time. He’s been struggling a bit this summer.
The 8 year old is a huge fan of Ranch Dressing. We tried making our own using a recipe I found on allrecipes.com, and he loved it. We used a combination of fresh and dried herbs. The fresh chives turned the dressing green.
I did a much better job grilling the pizzas this week! After heating up the grill, I turned the heat down to low, and didn’t burn the bottoms. I also grilled some eggplant to make my grilled eggplant, roasted red pepper, and feta cheese lunch combo again.
I was so excited to meet Marisa of Food in Jars at the Whole Foods Cherry Fest! She demoed a tasty cherry chutney recipe and signed copies of her book, Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round. Marisa is doing a book tour for her new book, Preserving by the Pint: Quick Seasonal Canning for Small Spaces. Check your local Whole Foods to see if she’ll be there.
