I hardly ever share the daily moments of our life as a family of 7 on A Life in Balance. I feel like I’m focused on the bigger picture instead of the small details here on the blog. If you’re a fan on Facebook or follow me on Instagram, you get glimpses of our family life.
Every Saturday, I’m going to share 5 glimpses of daily life to share with you the family behind A Life in Balance. Don’t forget to join me on Instagram for more daily life.
I ran my first half marathon last Saturday, and completed an item on my bucket list. Woot!
My mom recently took up beading. While I was staying at her home last weekend for the half marathon, she gave me a pair of earrings that I love so much! I can’t wait to see the bracelet she’s making for my daughter.
Since my oldest son’s 18th birthday fell on a weeknight this year, we’re saving the big dinner for today. To celebrate on the actual date, I came up with this easy dessert of angel food cake, strawberry ice cream, raspberry sauce, and whipped cream. The raspberry sauce and whipped cream are homemade.
I am once again the proud owner of a bike. My husband slightly persuaded me to join his company’s team for the American Cancer Society Philly Bike-a-thon. Whom am I kidding? It didn’t take much persuading!
Since the bike I already had was one trash picked by my sister-in-law and in need of a lot of repair, I put that bike out for someone else to trash pick and bought a new bike.
I miss riding a bike. I used to ride in college. I still remember riding across Delaware with a friend. Now I can cross train with the bike and use it to save money on gas while the kids are in school.
I love the creativity and confidence of my 7 year old daughter!
