I hardly ever share the daily moments of our life as a family of 7 on A Life in Balance. I feel like I’m focused on the bigger picture instead of the small details here on the blog. If you’re a fan on Facebook or follow me on Instagram, you get glimpses of our family life.
Every Saturday, I’m going to share 5 glimpses of daily life to share with you the family behind A Life in Balance. Don’t forget to join me on Instagram for more daily life.
Even though it isn’t spring yet, I indulged in some colorful ribbon this week when I was at JoAnn Fabrics for other supplies. I used the green organza on my homemade burlap wreath. I’m saving the rainbow ribbon for Easter decorating after St. Patrick’s Day. Ribbon is one of my favorite ways to dress up my home and such an easy way to bring the holiday spirit into my decorating.
My oldest son will be going to his Junior Prom in a few weeks. I can’t believe how expensive it is to go to the prom! My son’s ticket was $65. To rent the tux, but no shoes, it will be $150. I decided to buy shoes for him to wear to this year’s prom, a wedding, a First Communion, and hopefully more events later in the year. I’m crossing my fingers my son’s feet have stopped growing since they’ve been the same size for several years, and he’s almost 18.
On Thursday, I cooked 5 simple dishes – roasted sweet potatoes, roasted asparagus, wild rice, brown rice, and quinoa. Some of these went in the fridge to use for dinners, and some went into the freezer for later in the month.
On Thursday, I had 2 kids home sick from school. No one threw up though we were prepared. Both kids were cranky and had a low grade fever.
