Ever feel like you’re caught up in a cycle you just can’t get out of? That’s been me, for over a month. After a double ear infection with bronchitis, I got another ear infection, got better in time for our 1st Communion Party, and then boom, a major sinus infection. I had to ask my husband to stay home with the kids on Wednesday because I couldn’t get out of bed.
I’m positive the recurrent infections are the result of the strong antibiotics I took to get rid of the first set of infections. Nothing I can do about that now. What I can do is keep up with my supplements, get plenty of sleep, and find ways to support my immune system with a healthy diet, probiotics, and fermented foods. I will also wash my hands, a lot.
Exercise-wise, I will start running again tomorrow morning. I’ll take it easy since I still have the sinus infection. I’ll focus on stretching and doing situps daily and start lifting my arm weights, too.
I can report I’ve lost weight. I think it’s a combination of dropping the wheat out of my diet and getting sick. Which means it may be temporary, and that’s okay. I don’t mind gaining a pound or two if it means I stay healthy for the rest of the spring.
After all, I’ve got places to run.
