Summer is a great time for moms to get their fitness into their day even with the kids home. Schedules are looser, plus we feel more compelled to get outdoors for exercise. When back to school comes, many of us feel like we lose so many options when it comes to getting fit. Not only that, we have to fit it into a busy schedule, and unless, we have the habit of getting our workouts done first thing, it can be a struggle.
Over the years, I’ve collected a few workout videos to help me through the winter months when it’s icy or just downright yucky outside. For me, these videos are in addition to the walking and running workouts I can do on my treadmill. If you don’t have access to a treadmill, stationary bike, or elliptical, you’ll need to be more creative about which videos you choose to help you stay fit.

30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels
It’s no secret to my long-time readers that Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred is at the top of my list. Complete with warm up and cool down, this video has 3 levels of workouts which can be completed in a total of about 27 minutes. Sometimes I incorporate parts of the strengthen workouts into my leg or arm strengthening routines.
Reebok/Gaiam Medicine Ball Workout
I found this medicine ball workout by Gaiam at Target over the summer. At 10 minutes, this is an easy workout to add onto an easy exercise day like a walking or cycling day. This Gaiam workout strengthens the core, often an area of weakness for runners. You can grab a bonus workout online.
I have found some great videos on YouTube to help me out with my physical therapy like this ankle strengthening video. Just check out the techniques with a doctor if you have physical mobility issues to make sure you don’t injure yourself. Use specific phrases like ankle strengthening or core body workout to find what you’re looking for. I even made my own quick workout video showing my favorite arm strengthening routine.
