Every fall, I want to fight the schlumpiness of my summer t-shirts and shorts by pulling together some fun outfits. The truth is I have about a million pairs of earrings and lots of great fall and winter wardrobe finds from Goodwill, but I ALWAYS grab a t-shirt and jeans first.
To kick myself back into semi-fashionable yet comfortable and casual Mom style, I’m sharing an outfit I pulled together for a lunch date with my husband in mid-August. I had just bought the dress and earrings at Ross Dress for Less, and wanted to look nice for once for my husband. And for me. I love this dress because it’s light-weight enough for summer, yet works for early fall, too.
When I worked full-time, Anne Klein jewelry was my go-to for dressing up work outfits. I love the simplicity of these earrings which are just big enough for my short hair, yet not too big.
This dress from Beige by Eci is so comfortable and unfussy. I do confess to wearing shape wear underneath, but hey, I gave birth to 5 kids. A mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do.
To be honest, I wouldn’t wear these Born sandals again with this dress. My husband questioned them when I put them on; I should have listened to him. I think a black sandal would have been better.
I get rave reviews every time I use this orange purse from Sondra Roberts. I bought it for about $20 on clearance at a boutique shop last summer. At first, I wasn’t sure about such a bold color. Now I love it! It’s big enough to hold my iPad mini, reading glasses, wallet, and business cards, yet not too big.
I bought this Premier necklace at a party a few years ago to give to someone, and then, decided to keep it. I love the simple graphic style with the black cord.
Bought on clearance at DSW, these Born sandals are cute and comfy, though not quite the right shoes for this outfit. Next time, I’ll try a strappy pair of sandals.
