Outside my window…
The sun is up, with a layer of pink behind the trees.
I am thinking…
Of the blogging goals workshop I went to last night, and dinner afterwards at Seasons52. What an awesome group of women!
I am thankful for…
My new 21 inch monitor. I think I’m a techy at heart, no matter how much I deny it.
I am pondering…
Living a green/frugal lifestyle…
I’m getting ready to do my first online Target order today using my REDcard to take advantage of the 5% off and the free shipping. I am so excited to be saving myself a trip to the store!
From the kitchen…
I’ll be posting my menu plan on Frugal Local Kitchen tomorrow which will include some recipes from at least one ebook I’ll be offering in a giveaway next week on Frugal Local Kitchen. I’m also trying some recipes from the new Eat Your Vegetables: Bold Recipes for the Single Cook by Joe Yonan, Food and Travel Editor of the Washington Post. I won an autographed copy of his new cookbook at The Big Summer Potluck last week! My very first recipe try will be the kimchi which was served as an appetizer at the #BSP4. Man, was that good!
My 9 year old son and I will start making snacks for the freezer this week. Of course, I need to come up with a few ideas. I know he wants to make chocolate chip cookie dough; that’s fine by me.
At the end of the week, I have plans to do a big stock up trip at Costco and Whole Foods. I do a bigger one than normal in August every year in case September turns out to be a crazy month. It always is.
I am creating…
a photo book of my daughter’s Kindergarten year. I need to get this project done before starting on the First Communion Album for my third son who will be receiving his First Communion in May of next year.
I am going…
to get my haircut! I also need to hide those pesky grays, but first, a haircut.
I am reading…
Two books. On the Kindle, I have SMASH! Break Through Your Productivity Barriers With Proven Secrets From Top 6 & 7 Figure Infopreneurs (currently free on the Kindle), and in my hands, I have Flour, Too
. FYI – Thanks to Stonyfield Farms, I’ll be offering Frugal Local Kitchen readers a copy of Flour, Too in a giveaway at the end of August.
Waiting next to my bed – Seasonal Fruit Desserts: From Orchard, Farm, and Market, I found this cookbook on clearance at Hagley Museum this week and snatched it up.
Living A Healthy Lifestyle…
Going through physical therapy for my ankle issues/injuries is helping me get back on track with fitness and good habits. It’s a great reminder I’ve got one body, and I need to take care of it. I am also excited to match the growing fitness knowledge with nutrition knowledge in my friend Lydia’s new ecourse, Get Healthy to Lose Weight starting August 14th. As a 45 year old, I’m finding it harder to lose weight when I gain it due to inactivity/injury. Fears of being heavy like I was in high school are coming up for me. Educating myself and using that knowledge will help me stay on track and help me to keep my family healthy, too.
I am hoping…
For a great week! Lots of stuff on the agenda.
I am hearing…
Quiet. Everyone is sleeping in.
Around the house…
While I would love to get into some decorating projects, I know I need to focus on getting ready for back to school and deep cleaning the zones I missed. This week I’m working on the Kitchen Zone; some of the cabinets need a good cleaning on the inside. The fridge also needs to be cleaned again.
One of my favorite things…
The question of the week! My new 21 inch monitor. I think having the additional viewing space will help so much in the coming months as I take on some bigger projects like writing an ebook or 2.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Maybe pool time? The weather is a little cool. I’ll be doing lots of Girl Scout stuff to get ready for the new year. I don’t think we’ll do a Friday day trip this week, though I may change my mind by the end of the week.
A picture for thought…
I can’t believe this little guy who still seems like the baby will be going to preschool this fall.
Or this bigger guy, his best buddy, will be a tween this October.
