Outside my window…

I am thinking…
about staying fit and healthy through the holidays. I did my first trail run in a month yesterday, and realized how weak my legs were.

I am thankful for…
my children and our November Thankful Project. I love hearing what they share each day.

I am pondering…

Living a green/frugal lifestyle…
Yesterday was definitely NOT a frugal day for me at the library. I haven’t been on top of returning library books on time, but I didn’t realize we had an overdue library book that was 2 MONTHS late. Ugh! I came home and put a reminder in my Nozbe GTD for the new books due in December. I resolve to do better!

On the other hand, I finished my family calendar for Christmas early and at a great price. I think the final cost was around $9 per calendar. I am very pleased with my experience with Picaboo. Yesterday, I ordered my Christmas cards through Tiny Prints, also with discounts.

From the kitchen…
One of the keys to being gluten-free for me is having plenty of cooked veggies on hand. I’m finding that 30 minutes at lunch time prepping and cooking veggies is a big help. I also cook a large batch at dinnertime or cook several small ones.

I am creating…
plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I am going…
to mass, running, and then to see The Nutcracker at a local performing arts center.

I am reading…
A Train in Winter – I am almost finished. What struck me the most was the women’s support of each other. They survived because they looked out for each other, helped each other, and reached out to other women they came across.

When I look back at my own life, I can see where women coming along side of me and helping me made such a difference. I also see the friendships lost when a friend withdrew, even after years of being friends. I’m more determined than ever to be the kind of person who builds up others – supporting and encouraging them. It’s more fun to be part of the “Woohoo” Club, quite honestly.

Living A Healthy Lifestyle…
I’m getting myself back on track with my running, eating, and of course, drinking water. Drinking water makes such a difference to my energy levels.

I am hoping…
for a fun and busy week.

I am hearing…
Children coming down for breakfast.

Around the house…
In expectation of company on Thanksgiving, I’ve been going around putting away items. I also cleaned up my office and pulled out my supplies for treat bags for my children’s classmates.

One of my favorite things…
my fleece tops from Kohl’s – colorful and warm.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
The Nutcracker, a trip to NJ to drop off Hurricane Sandy donations, Thanksgiving Feasts at school, and Thanksgiving.

A picture for thought…
I can’t wait to see the pile grow!
