daybook 1.13.13

Outside my window…
Darkness and fog.

I am thinking…
About preparing for my week ahead. I’m also thinking about a conversation I will eventually have with someone in my life. To paraphrase “Suits,” sometimes people are anchors and we have to cut them loose. Sometimes we don’t realize this until God does the cutting for us.

I am thankful for…

I am pondering…
balance and goals.

Living a green/frugal lifestyle…
I still haven’t looked at our budget to make adjustments for the increase in taxes. On my list for this week!

From the kitchen…
Having a thought-out menu plan helped a lot last week, even though I didn’t make the lunch recipes. I’ll be shifting them to this week, along with focusing on kitchen prep.

I am creating…
plans for this week including a GNO.

I am going…
for a long run of 8 miles and after lunch to see my mil for her birthday.

I am reading…
I finished Volunteer Essentials by the Girl Scouts, and now back to my blogging books.

Living A Healthy Lifestyle…
While I struggled a bit with my strength training this week because of our weeknights out, I did my first 20 mile week in about 2 months. It feels great to be back on track with running.

However, I realized that I spent a lot more time than normal sitting last week which is bothering my hip. This week, I am using the timer to make sure I don’t sit more than 30 minutes at a time.

I am hoping…
For a great run today!

I am hearing…
my husband watching sports.

Around the house…
Christmas decorations are down. Pine needles are gone, I hope. Time to freshen up the decorating.

One of my favorite things…

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Taking my car in for service, Girl Scout stuff, Lunch Duty, and then a busy Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

A picture for thought…

My Kindergarten daughter is reading! Here she is reading to her younger brother.

Barb, speaking of 1/2 price, Saturday the 26th is the next 1/2 price day and Tuesdays in February, all winter clothes are $2 for adults and $1 for kids. Just thought you’d want to know.
