Do you make a Christmas gift that everyone asks for, no, demands every year? For me, it’s the family calendar I put together with lots and lots of photographs of the kids. It goes to all the grandparents, some of the aunts, and of course, my husband who is a big fan of my photography, and his kids.
I like to pull together the calendar starting in August. During the year, I collect my favorite photos in a folder I have set up on my computer. Whenever I download photos from my CF card and review and tag them, I save a copy of the photos I like to the folder. I always save a good photo from landmark events like Kindergarten graduation or a significant birthday. In August, I review the photos to see if I’ve featured each of my kids at least once.
My goal is to have the calendar together by the beginning of October. This gives me time to find photo calendar deals through sites like Winkflash and Picaboo since the calendars usually cost about $20. After using Winkflash for a few years, I’ve switched over to Picaboo because I can use multiple photos per month which of course, the grandparents love. Picaboo also allows me to include special dates on the calendar
