With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, my husband and I are already making plans for a Valentine’s Day date night at home. While we love to go out to eat, we love even more to enjoy a home cooked meal specially prepared by my husband who has an amazing gift for combining flavors.
Disclosure: I received a Whole Foods gift card and some wonderful foods perfect for Valentine’s Day along with a tasting of Eclat Chocolate. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.
When I had a chance to check out the amazing food offerings at my local Whole Foods Market in Devon, PA last week, I came home excited to start menu planning with fresh ingredients from Whole Foods. And of course, my plans included their amazing Whole Trade roses!
Our Valentine’s Day Menu
Our plan is to have the kids go to bed a little early on Valentine’s Day after eating Whole Food’s take-out pizza. I’ll manage the kids while my husband takes care of preparing our meal. Once the kids are finished eating, I can set the table for our romantic dinner at home complete with candles and beautiful roses from Whole Foods.
Pan Seared Scallops with Cream Sauce and Shallot
Steamed Asparagus with Hollandais Sauce
Savory Risotto sprinkled with Pecorino Romano cheese
Dessert: Heart-Shaped Chocolate Torte from Whole Foods Market Bakery

2 Dozen Whole Trade Roses $24.99!
While you’re at Whole Foods picking up the best ingredients for your Valentine’s Day dinner, don’t forget to buy roses for your Valentine. Whole Foods is offering 2 dozen Whole Trade roses for just $24.99. That’s an amazing value considering you could easily spend $60 on a dozen.
What is Whole Trade?
The Whole Trade Guarantee program was created to highlight [Whole Foods] commitment to ethical trade, the environment and quality products sourced from developing nations. Every purchase of Whole Trade products helps fund projects such as new community centers, schools and homes for real people.
Grown in the Ecuadorian Andes by a group of Fair Trade certified farms, these “blooms with benefits” help to cultivate better working conditions and equitable wages for the farms’ workers. For each case of Whole Trade roses purchased by Whole Foods Market, an additional percentage is paid directly to worker groups from each farm who collectively decide how to use the money.
