Omni Hotel - Azalea Restaurant

Omni Hotel - Azalea Restaurant

This past weekend, Joey Fortman of Real Mom Media held a Blogger Beauty Brunch at the Omni Hotel located next to Independence Park in Philadelphia. Long-time readers of my blog know I focus on the health and fitness of moms rather than the beauty side. However, I do think all moms need pampering from time to time.

I drove into the city with 2 Delaware County bloggers, Kelly of Delco Deal Diva and Jennifer of Philly Fun 4 Kids. (These moms are just 2 of the amazing Philly Social Media Moms I got to hang out with on Sunday.) Despite the bike race and other festivities, we had no problems parking in a garage right up the street.

First stop at the Omni Hotel was the intimate Azalea Restaurant located on the 2nd floor and overlooking Independence Park. Sunday Brunch at the Azalea Restaurant was quite a spread! There were an array of dishes on the buffet from smoked salmon, shrimp salad, smoked trout, white fish salad to herb crusted roasted rack of lamb, slow roasted beef  tenderloin, braised veal, prime rib, or oven roasted turkey.

Besides the hot dishes like Seafood Newburg, tri-colored tortellini with sun dried tomato and pesto sauce or farfalle with wild mushrooms, spinach, and roasted pepper sauce, there was this wonderful fruit display complete with whipped cream and chocolate.

For dessert, we could have these freshly-made crepes, or

one of these delicious desserts, or both. I went for the chocolate cake in the back. Yum!

After brunch we went upstairs for the Beauty portion of the event.

One of the event sponsors, the Bouari Clinic, was on hand to talk about their weight loss program and their new clinic in the King of Prussia area.

Another event sponsor, Donna Scott, a secret celebrity makeup artist, shared her product to reduce the signs of aging. Next door was the Color Bar by Marc Voci, a Delaware County salon, doing mini makeovers. The hair do’s and makeup were amazing!

For several years, the Omni Hotel has been helping to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a foundation started here in Philly to help fight the good fight against childhood cancer. This year, the Omni is auctioning off a $50,000 wedding with the proceeds going to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. If you know anyone getting married, or remarried, or celebrating a big anniversary, this would make for an amazing wedding. The auction starts on Ebay on June 9th.

Disclosure: I received a free brunch from the Omni Hotel along with a free makeover from the other event sponsors. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.

Great post – and great photos! I was sorry to miss it, but especially so after seeing that delicious carrot cake! :) Glad everyone had a fun time. I’ll have to check out the Color Bar soon, since it’s so close.

Kelly told me the Color Bar has wifi. We can bring in our laptops and blog while getting rid of those grays. Not that any of us have gray hair….

Everything looks SO DELICIOUS! I have to stop reading all the posts because 1) they make me hungry and 2) I’m so sad I had to miss this event last minute. The vendors did a fantastic job on all the PSMM girls – and I can’t wait to some day have brunch at the Omni!
