I love creating new Thanksgiving Tablescapes each year, especially when we have guests for Thanksgiving dinner. Since my husband spends so much time cooking such a wonderful meal, I feel required to showcase his dinner with a good tablescape.
Since we’re hosting my in-laws for Thanksgiving this year, I decided to indulge myself and go all out on our Thanksgiving tablescape. As the kids have gotten older, I’ve felt more confident about creating a tablescape design for the table rather than going with just the basics. I’ve noticed the kids enjoy seeing the Thanksgiving table decorated and they often want to help me with putting the tablescape together.
After looking at the ideas for tables on my Thanksgiving Crafts, Decorations, and Recipe Pinterest board, I headed to Home Goods yesterday to see what I could find for a table cloth. Let me tell you a little secret. I’m very particular about my tablecloths. They must be 100% cotton. I hate the feeling of microfiber or polyester – BLAH! Fortunately, I found 2 100% cotton tablecloths, one a plain dark brown and the other slightly lighter dark brown with a paisley pattern. I think I’ll save the plain dark brown tablecloth for an idea I already have for Christmas. In the meantime, I’m using the ideas below to create my Thanksgiving tablescape.
