5 minute pumpkin decor using push pins and washi tapeWhile I find myself taking on more decorating projects this fall, I keep running up against a lack of time for elaborate decorating projects. I don’t have space to set up a project and leave it for a day or two, or a week. I only have about 15 to 20 minutes tops, with most of my free time on the weekends.

In September, I spray painted 2 of these pumpkins a copper color to add some color to the display on my front porch. I liked the metallic look though the pumpkins still needed something. Until I decided to hit the office supply section at Target to find quick ways to decorate the pumpkins.

In the scrapbooking section, I found Washi tape for $3.99 per roll. They only had 2 designs for Halloween.

It took all of 5 minutes to apply the tape to two of the pumpkins. Make sure the tape is on straight before smoothing it down. I found the tape easy to apply and remove as I fixed my slightly wiggly lines.

The pushpins were $1.34 for about 40. I didn’t see any other colors for the round ones, though you may find them at other stores.

Total Cost: about $10
